Dedicated To Youth Foundation created the Eat Right & Get Fit program for families and young adults so the we may educate them on how to eat healthy and be physically active in their daily lives. The number of obese children in the U.S. today is astounding and the number continues to rise to scary levels.
Statistics shows that children from the ages 8 to 18 spend an average of 7.5 hours a day on the internet browsing social media site, watching TV, playing video games, and talking on their cell phones in a typical day, and unfortunately only one-third of high school students get the recommended levels of physical activity while in school. Dedicated To Youth Foundation is a mission to bring awareness to this issue and to give communities the tools and resources need to create a healthier generation.
Within the Eat Right & Get Fit program the youth and families will learn how to make healthier choices in food and to starting adding physical activity to their daily lives. Each family will learn how to make simple food swaps that are easy follow but will have a HUGE impact on the nutrition value the body receives. In addition, everyone will also be exposed to a daily exercise program that can be done with as little as 20 minutes but have a serious impact on creating a healthy and lean body.
The following workshops, activities, events, and classes will be offered within the Eat Right & Get Fit program:
