Shiraz Boghani is the current Chairman of the Splendid Hospitality Group. He was recently honored with the ‘Hotelier of the Year’ award during the prestigious 2016 Asian Business Awards. He has been part of the hospitality industry for more than 30 years now, currently owning and managing nineteen trading hotels in the UK alone.
As an innovative entrepreneur and a highly-qualified Chartered Accountant, his passion for the hospitality industry led him to first introduce limited service branded hotels to the city of London as early as the 90s. In addition, Boghani shows significant support for the Aga Khan Foundation, which is a registered charity in the UK, as well as being part of the global Aga Khan Development Network.
Boghani’s most recent venture is a daring attempt at the complete development as well as the launch of the luxurious Hilton London Bankside hotel according to owler.com. Valued at over one-hundred-and-twenty-million British pounds, the hotel is located in London’s Bankside area, a vibrant and illustrious community. Other flagship locations include hotels such as Holiday Inn London, Wembley; The Grand Hotel & Spa, York; The New Ellington, Leeds; The Conrad London, St James; and of course, the Mercure Bristol Brigstow Hotel.
The Asian Business Awards
Run by the Asian Media and Marketing Group, the Asian Business awards are a prestigious event, the 2016 ceremony was attended by both Zac Goldsmith and Sadiq Khan, both candidates for the mayor of London, in addition to the Sky News Presenter Jannat Jalil, and many more influential figures.
Presiding in the judges stand were a line-up of renowned individuals, including Kalpesh R Solanki, AMG’s executive editor; Amit Roy, a well-respected journalist; Shailesh R Solanki, Richmond’s MP; and Jitesh Gadhia, a highly favored investment banker.

Originally born in Lenya, Boghani first traveled to the UK in the late 60s, where he began training to become an accountant with a small Chartered Accountant firm according to sussexhealthcare.org, some time afterward moving on to KPMG, which was, at the time, known as Thomson McLintock & Co.
With an innovative and forward-thinking attitude towards business, Boghani has always been quick to the draw when it comes to opportunities to develop a profitable business, and in 1985, he became a founding joint partner of Sussex Health Care, which is comprised of 18 Care Homes today, containing over five hundred individual beds. But in addition to his business acumen, he also provides both capital and time to a large number of charitable organizations which are currently under his support.
